Our Chef's Spotlight
My name is Michael Ellis
Graduate from George Brown Culinary Management program with apprenticeship completed with the Westin Hotels, Michael is passionate about ingredients, culturally inspired foods, and has a whimsical approach to creative food. His journey included experience with well known establishments such as Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment, Food Network Canada, Oliver and Bononcini Group, as well events from Tennis Canada to the Canadian Golf Open.
His involvement in Social Enterprises/Not for Profit sector dates to 2009. Working with Food Banks and Drop In centers when time allows, Michael takes every opportunity to give back to the community facing food insecurity.
Using a Trauma informed approach, Michael leads his team at the Raging Spoon with compassion and empathy through teaching skills and paying attention to detail his team delivers on taste, presentation, quality and passion.
